OUR STORY

A Love Story

As a young girl, Founder and CEO Shalonda Gibson experienced the life-changing power of compassion. During a time of financial hardship, a local social service agency brought Christmas gifts and essential items to her family’s home. She still remembers the joy as her family watched volunteers arrive simply to show love.

That moment planted a lasting seed. Shalonda promised she would one day give back to families facing similar challenges. What began as a childhood vow has grown into Operation Love Outreach Ministries—a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to sharing the love of Jesus Christ through service, hope, and practical support.

Today, Operation Love Outreach Ministries serves low- to moderate-income individuals and families by connecting them with resources that strengthen lives and restore hope. Through outreach programs, transitional housing, life-skills training, workforce development, mentorship, emotional wellness support, and community partnerships, the organization helps people overcome barriers, achieve self-sufficiency, and build brighter futures.

Our mission is rooted in the belief that every person deserves to be seen, valued, and loved. We work to break cycles of poverty and homelessness by meeting immediate needs while creating pathways to long-term stability.

Inspired by her childhood experience, Shalonda established Operation Love Village to address the challenges faced by young women aging out of foster care. Without stable housing, support, and opportunities to build life and career skills, many are at risk of homelessness, unemployment, and exploitation. The program offers safe transitional housing, case management, workforce development, financial literacy, educational support, life-skills training, mentorship, and mental and emotional wellness services. By providing the tools and support needed to thrive, Operation Love helps residents move from survival to independent living with purpose and dignity.

At Operation Love Outreach Ministries, we believe one act of kindness can change a life—just as it did for our founder. Every program we offer extends that same love and hope, helping the next generation succeed and inspire others.
